比如”cause a change”(啰嗦)→ “reshape”(精准),“make a stop”(中式)→ “halt”(地道)。
Global investors sold almost $2bn of Chinese stocks on Monday as Beijing’s crackdown on education companies raised fears of more regulatory tightening across the world’s second-biggest economy.
Investors offloaded Rmb12.8bn worth of Shanghai- and Shenzhen-listed shares through market link-ups in Hong Kong.
The market tumult was sparked by a move by Beijing over the weekend to ban academic tuition groups from making profits, raising capital or going public. News of the measures wiped about $16bn from the value of three of the sector’s biggest companies.
Losses continued on Monday, with a sub-index of education companies tumbled 9.6 per cent. In Hong Kong, the China Enterprises index of mainland companies fell 4.9 per cent while the broader Hang Seng shed 4.1 per cent.
The crackdown, which followed regulatory moves to rein in financial and technology companies, raised concerns that no sector would avoid more stringent policing.
“The growing speed and intensity of these crackdowns is unprecedented,” said Frank Benzimra.
Regulators in November pulled the plug on the record $37bn initial public offering of Ant Group.
The Hong Kong-listed shares of New Oriental Education plunged almost 40 per cent on Monday.

❌ 学生版(典型的 have/make/do 写法):
The government made new rules to stop education companies. Investors sold a lot of stocks. The value of these companies went down a lot. This caused many problems for the industry.
The government’s crackdown on education companies sent shockwaves through the market. Investors offloaded billions of dollars worth of stocks. The value of the top companies plunged — the index tumbled nearly 10 per cent. The crisis wiped billions from market valuations. Such an unprecedented regulatory move left the entire sector in turmoil.
-
“Have/Make/Do/Get” 四字禁令:写完一段后,用Ctrl+F搜索这4个词,看能不能换成精准的单字动词。比如 “make a stop” → “halt”,“get worse” → “deteriorate”。
-
按主题积累动词群:今天的文章教你”下跌类动词”(tumble/plunge/shed/wipe),下次读文章可以专门收集”上升类”(soar/surge/balloon)或”限制类”(curb/rein in/clamp down)。
-
动词比形容词重要:很多学生喜欢背大形容词(significant/essential/crucial)。 一个精准的动词(plunged/offloaded/unprecedented)比三个形容词加起来还值钱。
